Think back twenty or twenty five years and tell us the differences you perceive in the way life is now and the way it once was, what are the differences in the music of those two worlds? Just get all philosophical with this post I and other visitors would be very interested in the thoughts everyone has about this...

Apple, LOL...yea I want you to post here.. What do feel is different now as when you were growing up? Since you gave me the floor to post here....I wll try to reminisce from my time..here it goes; In 1964 till '71- The weather in PI is much colder and we do not need an AC or a fan to make us comfortable... in other words not much on pollution as it is these days. We can even walk under the sun without an umbrella to protect us from heat and simmering sun....we can have the potable water direct to refresh our throat unlike today that we have to make it at least 99% safer to boil or have it distilled. We hear the Jukebox playing the hits from a corner store nearby ...on radios, we hear soft music. love songs from Connie Francis, Timi Yuro, Matt Monroe, Frank Sinatra and their contemporaries. There the Beatles made PI crazy wooing their songs and music so as the Bee Gees and D'Monkess, Dave Clark Five and the late Cascades and many more. Then the Twiggy Look! Soon Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdink invade the elite crowd and masses as well. We even have that unforgettable Ali/ Frazier Boxing Bout in the '70. winning of the first time Phillipinnes Miss Universe Gloria Diaz ramming the same news waves on the First Man on The Moon...where black and white television are appreciated then....Has anyone knew Mr. Eduardo San Juan. who was to believe designed the moon buggy or lunar rover? A Filipino, Yes! In '72.. we were on a ML alert...some songs ,news blacked out but soon regained to make way for the Carpenters and for Betcha by Golly wow hit the board tremendously...life back then was more comfortable and we are more diciplined...and Jackson 5 ( BEN )was a superb hysteria at this point of time.. In 78' as I can still remember..I am already at my feet to touch the ground sending Mom to USA rather than me going to Virginia...I noticed that we are already having these ac/s on our vehicles not knowing that pollution is becoming a great problem and the weather condition as well. In '81.. things happened so fast.. People power...the start .( who can forget!) economic tendencies went down due to some dis- organized situation..people were crowding at the centerpoint Manila. In '83.. Stevie Wonder touches our heart with his songs and composure...I Just Call to say I Love You made it to the top for more than we expected... and SHOUT. yes I remember.. who sang this one? they were a duo.....and who else...hahaha! Help me Donnie! This is brain wrecker!!! ..hahahaha Hey !! Mr. OWL... can you? hahaha I like this a lot! You made me go back to my tweetie tweetie tums wearing hot pants.. mini maxi skirts.. military looks...crazy pins, bellbottom pants...haltered tops....pink lips..haha and all that! Well today.. I have to look more than great... wearing some accesorries..brunette.. lipstick...a lil' blush-on...." am sweatin' ! lol!! turn on the a/c... cold cuts... slimming sessions... sauna....jeans... belts.. rock bands... and do we have to weigh on poilitical side? I wonder!.... a no no for ciggy.! I need a break! hahaha!...wheeeeeeeeeewwww !! Ok... for now.. Rock Bands remains...eh! And those sweet romantic songs turns a little bit flirty More sensual I should say...Rockies are even better these days with all the high-tech and all that of course! And with the turning of the events.. with the Global Warming. pollutions..more on religious sects are raising from all source..... I see a great difference from those past decades in my life....Life back here is somewhat harder and politicking everywhere..eh! That's life!

Tears For Fears - Shout Lyrics
Shout Shout Let it all out These are things I can do without Come On I'm talking to you Come on
In violent times You shouldn't have to sell your soul In black and white They really really ought to know Those one track minds That took you for a working boy Kiss them goodbye You shouldn't have to jump for joy
Shout
They gave you life And in return you gave them them hell As cold as ice I hope we live to tell the tale
Shout
And when you've taken down your guard If I could change your mind I'd really love to break your heart
Shout
LULU
Well....... You make me wanna shout Look my hands jumpin' Look my heart's thumpin' Throw my head back Come on now. hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiih Don't forget to say you will Don't forget to shout yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Say you will,(throw your head back) Say you will,(Come on now , come on now) Say you will,(throw your head back) whooo Say you will,(Come on now)
(Say) Say that you love me. (Say) Say that you need me (Say) Say that you want me. (Say) Ain't Gonna greve me.
(say) oh come now (say) oh come now (say) oh come now (say) oh come now
I still remember when i used to be nine years old. yea yea now How i was over you, From the bottom of my soul. yea yea now Now that is old enough, Enough to know, You wanna meet me, You wanna love me so.

That was a perfect guess! Thank you! And here is one of the hit back I gather from a friend: 401MP . Florida. 38 yrs old. Male
The eighties, Mt. St. Helens blew up in Washington State, we bombed Libya, Reagan totally spanked Mondale during the elections, The US hockey team beat the Russians in the Olympics, Russian nuclear accident. I also remember working security at rock concerts that I was willing to pay money to see. The Monsters Of rock concert tours while I was in Germany, seeing Led Zepplin play at the Hemmerlein Halle in Nuremberg, Germany just three weeks before Bonham died. He passed out during the start of Kashmir and the show was cancelled. There was Polizei everywhere, what a night. I also saw Pink Floyd at Darmstadt, during the Wall tour, I actually went with my mom, she was cool. I miss the good rock music from the Crue, Dio, Iron Maiden, etc. but I also liked a lot of the new wave and ska music from Madness, General Public, The Fixx, and UB40. My junior prom, now that is one night I will never forget, thanks to Christine (hehehe). These are just some of my eighties experiences. The other things was making my last jump at jump school at Fort Benning, Ga. on my 18th birthday, reporting to my first duty station in Stuttgart, Germany and going on a platoon "thunder run" to all the bars on the strip. I could keep going, but that part is still a bit hazy. I really had a blast back then, good memories.

I remember the early 70's the days of Woodstock when you were either a hippie or a flower child. I was a man of peace then and opted to be a flower child in my early 20's, if i think back now of those times i cannot believe that i was so outrageous. I was a surfer then and surfer's went gaga over the Beach Boys and still today, they are a legend in their own right. The Monkees whom I believe never sang a note, is this true watcher?? The Beatles who caused a stir world wide and it was Beatle boots, Beatle hair styles, Beatle jackets and She Loves You yeah, yeah, yeah The Rolling Stones wow i could never get to like Mick Jagger's thick lips. Pink Floyd whose album Dark Side of the Moon rocked the world, i still have the album today.
The Who, South African singer Manfred Mann, The Byrds, so many more that i've forgotten. Then came Tom Jones who had the ladies eating out of his hands. Engelbert Humperdink a romantic singer of note then and growing my side burns to show that i was a fan of his. R&B singers Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge wow really funky music, those black singers that got the whites shakin their booty.
That was music, but what has happened today with music going into trans, drum and beat and just a jumble of noise. I remember the 70's and the good music that was available then and all i can say is that those groups wrote good music and lyrics that you could understand and that is why those many groups are still around today and still popular with their many loyal fans.
I remembered Queen and Freddy Mercury wow what a talented singer and what a tragic death but the group lives on and age has not affected their style of magic
